Ali Sadat, DDS
Founder and CEO
Ali has a strong personal motivation to improve the quality and cost of healthcare after seeing patients struggle to navigate the complex world of healthcare growing up in a private practice. Ali is a champion of evidence-based care and takes a hands-on role in inspiring the company’s expert clinical and technical teams. Prior to founding Retrace, Ali maintained clinical and research appointments at the University of California San Francisco and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. He is a graduate of the University of California San Francisco in Dentistry as well as Oral and Craniofacial Sciences and University of California San Diego in Bioengineering. Ali’s early work in biomedical imaging techniques and computer aided simulations paved the way for Retrace to benefit millions of lives as a value-based dental payments platform.
Vasant Kearney, PhD
Chief Technology Officer
Vasant sets the strategic and technical direction of Retrace’s product line and leads a world class team of “Builders”, which includes industry thought leaders in medical image processing, natural language processing, and full stack engineering. Vasant enjoyed a prolific academic and clinical career as a former UCSF Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology, where he developed advanced imaging techniques using deep learning to diagnose and treat cancer patients. His expertise in novel deep learning-based imaging to diagnose and treat cancer patients at the UCSF Medical Center has been foundational to Retrace’s advanced products in oral health artificial intelligence.
